ljo&Shalter is a music duo featuring Dan Hurovich and Jonathan Alter. Originating from the southern corner of Israel, Eilat, nowadays they are Tel Aviv based, breathing in the humid sea air and creating music.
Their Classically trained background, with a vast exposure and influences to various music genres left it's mark on the aspiring musicians.
The duo members also co-founded and preformed with Eilat based rock groups 'Deshe' and 'Chaos'.
All of the above created a unique collaboration of the two singers/drummers/producers, giving birth to the Ijo&Shalter project.
Combining electronic and acoustic elements, Ijo&Shalter take a different approach to the Ambient/Down-tempo Genre.
At this moment the guys are busy working on ÔIjo&Shalter LiveÕ performance, showing across Israel and Europe soon.

ÒBe OriginalÓ is the corny remark that we had on a note on the desktop, through all of the writing process.
As simple as it was, the remark itself became a major influence for us, and it was inevitable for us to name the album as it is.
ÒBe OriginalÓ is a mix of approximately two and a half years of work, and the difference between the tracks reflect our lives and the choices weÕve made throughout those times.
Apart from writing original music and performing live, Ijo&Shalter compose music to every form of art, including video art, movies&TV, contemporary dance and even video game soundtracks.
Ijo&Shalter are a duo of artists/producers, who with the support of talented musicians are able to reproduce their studio compositions in a live setting.
We would like to know a bit about our colleges.
Eliel Hurovich
Born in Argentina and raised in Eilat, Eliel Hurovich started his affair with music at a very young age.
The younger brother of Dan Hurovich (a.k.a. ÒIjoÓ) switched his attention to the guitar after 10 years of recorder and classic music studies.
Since then Eliel took part in several rock & electronic projects, Such as ÒDesheÓ and ÒChaosÓ.
Eliel played a major part in the recording of Ijo&ShalterÕs debut album, and he is the guitar player in the ÒIjo&Shalter LiveÓ project.
Osnat Harel
Osnat is an Eilat originated singer, who shares a long history with Ijo & Shalter.
Osnat was the lead singer of ÒChaosÓ, the Eilat based rock group, where she, for the first time, cooperated with the band singer Jonathan (ÒShalterÓ), and the band drummer Dan (ÒIjoÓ).
Osnat was a member of other several singing groups and bands, and recently graduated from ÒRimonÓ School of music.
With an experience in varied music genres, Osnat brings the soft and feminine side to the ÒIjo&Shalter LiveÓ project.
Ziv Mann
Ziv was born in Kibbutz Merchavia, where he developed his love for music at a very young age.
Prior to his Israeli army period, Ziv played piano and guitar before settling himself with the low tones of the bass guitar, Ziv was the first bass player of the group ÒGrooveaÕtronÓ as well.
Apart from performing with ÒIjo & ShalterÓ, Ziv is currently a part of the psychedelic group ÒOdradekÓ and working with the Israeli singer Yael Feldinger.
The Ijo&Shalter family is blessed with amazingly loving friends.
There is no way for us to get anywhere without their never-ending support.

One of the Be OriginalÕs happiest tracks, remixed especially to video game machines around Eilat, IL.
Tiltan
Composed for an original dance, choreographed by Tchelet Caon, a student in JerusalemÕs music and dance Academy.
The dance was performed as a part of the ÒGertrud Kraus Choreography CompetitionÓ at the ÒMaÕabadaÓ club, Jerusalem.

A small bit, written for a television series pilot that goes by the same name.
